Morocco has just taken a significant step towards its technological sovereignty by launching an ambitious center of excellence, in line with the Kingdom's major structuring projects. This project, initiated by the Ministry of Equipment and Water, aims to reduce dependence on foreign technologies and strengthen national capacities in engineering, research, and innovation. Launched last Friday at the Hassania School of Public Works, this innovative project will create an integrated technological ecosystem promoting pooling, continuous innovation, the transfer of know-how, and the development of an international collaborative network, while ensuring territorial anchoring to meet the needs of the entire country.

In line with the High Royal Guidelines calling for strengthening Morocco's sovereignty and making it a country in control of its destiny, the Ministry of Equipment and Water launched the "national technology center" on July 11, 2025, in Casablanca. This ambitious project, part of the Ministry's 2040 vision, aims to lay the foundations for an innovative, connected ecosystem geared toward current and, more importantly, future technological challenges. But what exactly is it? It is, in fact, a hub of excellence whose core is composed of three entities under the Ministry's supervision: the Hassania School of Public Works (EHTP), the Center for Technical Studies (CID), and the Public Testing and Research Laboratory (LPEE).
In this technological hub, synergy and the creation of a dynamic ecosystem are at the heart of the approach. The objectives are multiple: to stimulate innovation, ensure constant technological monitoring, support fundamental and applied research, and foster networking with international research and innovation centers.
