This Monday, June 10, Léa Salamé co-hosted the program Urgence Océan on France 2 opposite Emmanuel Macron. The tense and unfiltered exchange caused some discomfort on the set.
It wasn't supposed to be a political debate, much less a live clash. And yet. This Monday evening, France 2 broadcast Urgence Océan, a special program on the preservation of the seas and oceans, co-hosted by Léa Salamé and Hugo Clément. Among the guests was Emmanuel Macron, who came to defend his environmental record in a tense political climate.
But as soon as the subject of glyphosate was brought up, tensions rose. The president had begun to explain his commitment: "I said: I want us to get out of this." That's when Léa Salamé interrupted him, saying: "And we're not out of this." A brief, almost innocuous remark, but one which immediately provoked a reaction from the head of state, visibly annoyed by what he considers to be an unfair trial.
